As witnessed in hundreds of armed attacks worldwide, no organization is immune to the risk of active shooter violence. In this one-day seminar, security consultant Craig Gundry explores the dynamics of active shooter events and effective strategies for protecting employees and the public when mass homicide erupts.
Topics include:
Dynamics of Active Shooter Risk • Risk Management Strategy and the Active Shooter Threat • Risk Assessment Models • Workplace Violence Prevention Measures • Threat Assessment and Threat Management • Suspicious Activity Recognition and Reporting • Physical Security and Facility Design • Emergency Response Preparations • Active Shooter Response Planning • Post-Incident Issues
As of present, over 5,000 students worldwide have attended S2 Institute programs focusing on managing active shooter risk. In addition to public courses, S2 has developed and presented custom versions of the Risk Management and The Active Shooter seminar for numerous organizations including the CEO Council of Tampa Bay, Diocese of St. Petersburg, FCCMA, National Apartment Association, SAIS, Tampa Jewish Federation, and more.
Information in the S2 Risk Management and The Active Shooter seminar was adapted from the S2 Institute’s Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO) program and expanded with the inclusion of workplace violence and school security measures.
Following are some highlights of the Anti-Terrorism Officer program’s history since 2004.
In addition to the standard version of the S2 Risk Management and The Active Shooter seminar, S2 has developed a number of custom variations of the course for private client groups. These custom variations of the program spotlight attacks against related facilities in addition to focusing on countermeasures and issues of specific concern.
Some examples of custom course variations include:
