Cancellation & Refund Policy

Advanced Courses & Florida Class “D” & “G” Courses

Students will receive a full refund of fees if cancellation is received in writing within 30 days prior to the course start date. Students will receive a refund for all paid fees, minus 25% of the course tuition, if notice of cancellation is received less than 30 days prior to the course start date. No refunds will be granted for students that do not attend without prior notification of cancellation (“No Shows”).

Private and Custom Training Courses

Unless an alternative policy is agreed upon and documented by signed contract, the following describes the S2 Institute policy regarding cancellation of private training  courses.

If notification of cancellation is received in writing within 30 days prior to the scheduled course date, host organizations will only be charged for non-refundable instructor travel costs and deposits. If notice of cancellation is received less than 30 days prior to the scheduled course start date, the host organization will be charged for all non-refundable instructor travel costs and deposits plus 50% of the course presentation fee.

If the cancelled program under contract is a custom training program, any work conducted by the instructor in preparing the curriculum will be billed to the client at a rate of $250 per hour.

Enrollment

Advanced Open-Enrollment Courses

Students that wish to enroll in advanced courses may register online by using our secure enrollment and payment system. Students may also enroll in advanced courses by completing and submitting our Advanced Course Enrollment Form by fax or mail.

Florida Class “D” and “G” Courses

Students that wish to enroll in Florida Class “D” and “G” courses may reserve a seat in upcoming classes by completing and submitting our online Class “D” and “G” Enrollment Form. Florida Class “D” and “G” students do not need to be registered as site users to utilize this feature.

Students enrolling in Florida Class “D” and “G” courses may also reserve a seat by calling us at (727) 461-0066.

Payment

Advanced Courses

Students that wish to enroll in advanced courses online may use our secure Internet ordering system to pay for courses by Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. All online payment transactions are processed through Ebay PayPal.

Advanced course students may also submit payment by company or government agency check. We do not accept personal checks.

Government students may also submit payment via purchase order. Billing on all purchase orders is due Net 30 days. Government agencies that are habitually late in payment may be denied future payment by direct billing.

Florida Class “D” and “G” Training

Payment for Florida Class “D” and “G” courses is due on the first day of class. Payment may be rendered by cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, or company check. We do not accept personal checks.

Restrictions

For reasons of security and public responsibility, many S2 Safety & Intelligence Institute courses are restricted to specific audiences. We require that all students applying for admission to restricted courses complete a credibility and identity verification process. The statements made by students to establish their credibility are subject to investigative verification and any misrepresentation or omission of information is grounds for rejection.

The S2 Safety & Intelligence Institute reserves the right to deny admittance to anyone where satisfactory verification of qualifications or credentials have not been obtained. The Institute also reserves the right to reject any applications for enrollment in restricted courses based on its discretionary assessment of the student’s statements and/or qualifications.

Classroom students applying for admission to restricted S2 courses must complete a security and identity verification questionnaire while on-site prior to the beginning of the course. The statements provided in the identity verification form are subject to investigative verification and any omissions or misleading statements are grounds for dismissal from the course. S2 also reserves the right to dismiss a classroom student from a restricted class if the student does not meet the eligibility criteria for the course restriction level.

Classroom students may also be requested to provide photographic identification to verify their identity. A photocopy will be made of the ID and kept on record with the student’s identity verification form. Students that claim employment by a US federal or local government agency should provide official government ID to establish the student’s eligibility for Level 3 restricted courses.

Identity verification is a one-time process and does need to be completed again if a student wishes to enroll in additional S2 restricted courses including distance learning programs. If a previous classroom student wishes to have their course access level carried over to their online user account for the purposes of enrolling in distance learning courses, the student should contact us and provide us with their online user ID. Our admissions staff will then update the student’s user ID to reflect their previously approved course access level.

Weapons Safety and Use of Force

The Institute’s operations depend upon the careful and safe control of deadly weapons and physical use of force, and such control requires the complete cooperation of all clients/students. Therefore, the Institute retains the right to terminate any student’s training at any time if the staff deems that the student’s cooperation is unsatisfactory or the student’s behavior possibly places themselves or others in danger.

Defensive Carbine Course

Civilian students are not allowed to bring NFA-configuration (selective-fire or SBR) carbines to this course. All police officers with NFA-configuration weapons will ensure that the weapon remains in their sole possession at all times during the course.

All shooting exercises during the Defensive Carbine course are performed in semi-automatic mode. Full-auto fire is prohibited in this course. Any student that violates this rule will be dismissed from the class.

Weapons Inspections

All student-owned weapons that are brought to the range for qualification or advanced firearms courses will be subjected to a safety inspection prior to live fire.
