Craig Gundry is the S2 Institute Vice President of Special Projects and lead instructor on issues pertaining to terrorism, school security, active shooter violence, and physical security. In addition to his role as an instructor, Mr. Gundry is a security consultant with over 30 years of experience focused on managing risks of targeted violence and supports litigation as an expert witness on matters related to physical security and emergency management.
As a consultant, Mr. Gundry provides expert assistance to schools, corporations, and government agencies throughout the world. Examples of his clients include Achieva Credit Union, American Automobile Association, Carpenter Technology Corporation, CF Industries, Corinthia Hotels, European Central Bank, European Commission, European External Action Service, Florida Blue/GuideWell, The Richman Group, TECO Energy, U.S. Central Command, and Vinnell Arabia.
Craig Gundry is the S2 Institute Vice President of Special Projects and lead instructor on topics pertaining to targeted violence and physical security. Mr. Gundry is also responsible for directing S2 security consulting projects pertaining to terrorism and targeted violence, including the development of doctrine and training for S2 and CIS special programs (e.g., Anti-Terrorism Officer program, Guardian SafeWorkplace Program, Guardian SafeSchool Program®, etc.).
Prior to joining the S2 Institute, Mr. Gundry was the President of Palladium Media Group, a company specializing in training and consulting on explosive, chemical, and biological terrorism. Mr. Gundry’s expertise in anti-terrorism began as a specialist in force protection and anti-terrorism planning with the United States Army in the early-1990’s.
Mr. Gundry is a court-qualified expert witness on physical security, risk management, and emergency management. He is also a committee member for development of the new Active Assailant supplement to ANSI standard ASIS/SHRM WVPI-1-2011 (“Workplace Violence Prevention and Intervention”) and Chairman of the Certifying Board of the International Association of Counterterrorism and Security Professionals (IACSP).
Mr. Gundry is the author of numerous articles on security and targeted violence prevention topics. He also provides expert commentary on school security, anti-terrorism, and workplace violence issues for news media organizations including Al-Jazeera, BBC, CNN, The Blaze, USA Today, and every news outlet in the Florida region.
Mr. Gundry is the lead instructor for the S2 Institute’s Anti-Terrorism Officer course and advanced seminars on security risk assessment, active shooter preparations, physical security, school security, and emergency management planning. His previous students include over 3,500 security professionals from over 40 nations. He is also a TEDx presenter and lecturer on security planning and anti-terrorism topics for John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Mr. Gundry also presents PSP® certification exam preparation courses for ASIS International.
